Our monthly meetings are held at the South Cronulla Bowling & Recreation Club which is a licensed club. Unless you are a member of the South Cronulla Bowling Club, it is required that you sign in as a guest. Members' and Visitors' cooperation in meeting this requirement is sought.

A name badge is issued when joining and members are asked to wear it at all meetings and outings.

While attendance at meetings is not mandatory in our club, a regular pattern of attendance is expected. Apologies for non attendance may be made directly to any committee member or via another club member.

The name PROBUS is derived from PROfessional and BUSiness. The original Probus Club was started in Welwyn Garden City in U K. in 1965. The organisation of Probus Clubs is carried out by ROTARY who then take no further part in its activities. Probus is now in many countries and is continuing to spread.

The first Probus club in the South Pacific was in New Zealand and the first in Australia was HUNTERS HILL in 1976

Today, there are over 1600 Probus Clubs - Men's, Ladies and Combined, in the South Pacific Area with an estimated membership of 130,000.

Each club is autonomous but is required to adhere to a standard constitution. The clubs are serviced by the Probus Centre - South Pacific at Parramatta, which is supported by Rotary and club donations. Probus Centre - South Pacific produces a quarterly magazine "Probus News" and encourages and advises clubs and produces regalia, badges, etc
